Kylie Jenner goes understated in chic champagne gown on Met Gala 2024 red carpet: ‘Goddess of dissapointment’
Kylie Jenner knows how to make a dramatic entrance.
The reality-star-turned-makeup-mogul hit the Met Gala 2024 red carpet Monday wearing a classic satin silhouette, sporting a champagne-hued Oscar de la Renta evening gown on the Met steps.
The 26-year-old “Kardashians” star rocked a strapless column dress inspired by Cecil Beaton’s photography, featuring a pointed bust and an attached train.
She nodded to the night’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” theme by tucking a blush-colored rose into her curly updo and wore a 30-carat yellow diamond ring by Lorraine Schwartz.
However, some fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) didn’t exactly catch on to the references, with one dubbing her the “goddess of disappointment.”
Boyfriend Timothée Chalamet did not appear to be in attendance.
It’s been a busy few months for Jenner, who recently debuted her first fragrance, Cosmic, and also launched a line of canned vodka sodas called Sprinter.
In between her business ventures, she found time to attend January’s Golden Globes (and spark serious online drama) with Chalamet, attend Paris Fashion Week with daughter Stormi and squeeze in a fun- and fashion-filled trip to Turks and Caicos.
A fixture at the Met Gala, Jenner attended last year’s ball wearing a striking red-and-blue robed gown designed by Haider Ackermann — one of Chalamet’s longtime favorites — for Jean Paul Gaultier.
In 2022, the Kylie Cosmetics founder paid tribute to late Off-White designer Virgil Abloh by ascending the museum steps in a dramatic wedding gown and veiled baseball cap from the label.
And in 2019, Jenner fully embraced the evening’s “Camp: Notes on Fashion” dress code with her feathery purple Versace frock and matching wig.
She made her Met Gala debut in 2016, walking the carpet in a silver bedazzled Balmain gown befitting that year’s “Manus x Machina” theme.
